There is always a big crowd which is always ready to shout it loud, "Chennai people don't know anything about farming and agriculture".
Yes, I agree their statement. Because, people who left their native and came to Chennai searching for job and started staying in PGs, rented house. After few year of having a career over here in Chennai they decided to settle here permanently, and so wanted to buy a piece of land to construct a house in their budget. They couldn't afford near their work place or within city and so they searched for piece of land near to city, but people their were having farms and doing agriculture.
They were poor people, a lot of people who had land but no money to do irrigation, many who had to pay debts, many who being so close to capital of state were committing suicide due to low income in agriculture, they wanted to give a better life to their next generation but they couldn't give them a day meal.
They became the ultimate targets of these high profile working people who were from outer places, they offered more than the cost of land and bought the land. After buying that piece of land, they got some other idea, instead of building a house for them with a garden and few coconut, moringa tree(drumstick tree) and neem trees and other organic plants. They build an huge apartment without leaving a inch place for garden, and earned big profit.
And today these people say that people of Chennai don't know about farming, come to our native and see how farming is done. They destroyed the farmers of Chennai, and now praise about their native.
Even CM Edapaddi K.Palanisamy in TN assembly said the same words, "Chennai people know nothing about farming".
People of Chennai were farmers, we were forcefully pushed to extinct.
We have still few left out farmers in and around Chennai, please let them live peacefully.
